Westbound traffic on Highway 411 near Hine Road was stopped for hours after a tractor-trailer carrying nearly 50,000 pounds of chicken overturned and spilled food over the road.

According to Floyd County Police, the truck was traveling east when the driver attempted to make a U-turn at Hines Road. The weight of the truck caused its load to shift shift, and as the result the truck to roll over on its side and then down an embankment.

According to a witness who identified himself as Grady Frisby, “There were chickens, chickens everywhere”.

The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital to be checked out.

Police and prison work crews were left the clean up the meat, which was then donated to New Beginnings Ministries.
