A single vehicle accident in Gore this morning left a man seriously injured. Witnesses on the scene told WZQZ News that the Jeep the man was driving flipped several times before coming to a rest in the grassy median, close to Hunter’s Furniture.
According to eyewitnesses it appeared the man ran off the road while traveling southbound on Highway 27 and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle landed facing the northbound lanes. Personal affects from the Jeep were scattered throughout the median and the driver was ejected from the vehicle and was trapped underneath the Jeep. Other motorists, who stopped to render aid lifted the vehicle from off the victim until medical help could arrive.
The Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department along with Redmond EMS and the Georgia State Patrol were called to the scene. Reports indicated that the victim, a middle-age male, was being transported by air to the hospital. WZQZ will have more information as it becomes available.
