Mrs. Mary Lou Cromer age 83, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Cromer was born in Cherokee County, Alabama on May 16, 1935, daughter of the late Roy F. Sanford and the late Ruby Luella (Welchel) Sanford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William A. “Billy” Cromer. Survivors include three daughters; Kathy Pevy (Bob), Fernandina Beach, Florida, Shirley Cromer, Rome, Darlene Mull (Stevie), Rome; two grandsons, Adam Mull and Andrew Mull, Rome; three sisters; Dorothy Cromer (Eugene), Melvina Formby (Paul), and Vera Jean Hollingsworth (Larry); nieces and nephews.
Mary loved her family and was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She enjoyed many things; Time with family, cooking, working in her flower gardens, feeding and watching the birds in her yard, especially the cardinals that were her favorites, gospel, and country music. She was a member of the Vann’s Valley United Methodist Church.
Mary treasured her neighbors; Amos, Alpha, Chris, Jr. and Michelle Montgomery; Calvin, Sharon, and Roger Sublett; George DaVilla, Danny and Debbie Jett, and her special caregiver, Cheryl Adams. The family would like to thank Heyman HospiceCare at Floyd for their loving care and kindness during her illness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel with the Rev. Priscilla Tunnell officiating. A private interment will be held at Floyd Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Thursday from 1pm until 1:45pm.
