Rome City Schools has named Rome High School Assistant Principal, Felisha Jackson, as the interim principal for Anna K. Davie Elementary School.
Jackson will assume administrative duties on Jan. 9, 2019.
Mrs. Jackson holds a Bachelor’s from Georgia Southern University in Criminal Justice, a Master’s from Troy State University in Public Administration, an Ed.S from Nova Southeastern University in Curriculum Instruction, Management and Administration, and is pursuing a PhD/EdD from Nova Southeastern University in Instructional Leadership.
Jackson brings a wealth of experience in special education and curriculum to Anna K. Davie Elementary School. She has served at the elementary and middle school levels as an educator in Special Education for ten years in the Newton and Rockdale County School Systems.
In addition to public schools, Jackson has also taught college-level courses. Along with her assistant principal duties at Rome High School, she also served as Special Education Department Chair.
“Mrs. Jackson has an extensive background in curriculum and special education,” said Rome City Schools Superintendent Louis Byars. “I feel confident that her knowledge, along with her experience in school leadership, will be beneficial during this transition.”
The 2019-2020 position of principal for Anna K. Davie Elementary School will remain posted on the teachgeorgia.org website and a decision will be made during the March Board of Education meeting.
