Rome City Commissioners on Monday unanimously approved a 2.5% hike in water and sewer rates, which will go into effect in January.
According to City Manager Sammy Rich the average customer will only see close to a $1.50 increase a month.
The city did keep the current rate for connection fees.
City Commissioner Wendy Davis said that the goal with the increase is to help with infrastructure investments.
