The GBI West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office responded to the West Georgia Regional Airport in Carrollton, GA at the request of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regarding a suspicious aircraft.
Agents from HSI and CBP began searching a Piper Seneca aircraft operated by Nathan Gregory Deeds, 36, of San Rafeal, CA, and Adrian Patrick Green, 30, of Redwood City, CA. During the search, 27.2 pounds of marijuana was discovered, along with $195,912.00 in U.S. Currency.
Agents with the West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office conducted interviews of Deeds and Green who were subsequently arrested for Trafficking in Marijuana. Both Deeds and Green were transported to the Carroll County Jail. Preliminary inquiries have revealed that the aircraft is owned by a rental company in California.
The GBI West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office is in Carrollton, GA and services 35 counties. The office is comprised of members from the GBI, Carrollton Police Department, Villa Rica Police Department, Bowden Police Department, LaGrange Police Department, Newnan Police Department, Atlanta Police Department, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and Heard County Sheriff’s Office.
