Joie Gowens, 57, of Gadsden, Alabama was arrested in Cave Spring for driving a stolen vehicle.
According to police, on July 13, 2018, Gowens was driving when he failed to stop for a stop sign. When police attempted to pull him over, he tried to flee from police.
When he was finally stopped, police found that he was driving without a valid license and had a license not registered to the vehicle he was driving. This was an attempt to conceal the identity of the said stolen vehicle.
Gowens is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, use of license plate to conceal the identity of the vehicle, failure to obey traffic control device, driving without a license, and attempting to elude a police officer.
