Cherokee County Sheriff’s investigators arrested 8 individuals on drug charges on this week.

According to Sheriff Jeff Shaver, 2 of those suspects were arrested on County Road 14 for drug trafficking and tampering with physical evidence.  Phillip B. Slayton, 27, and Stephen K. Reynolds, 28, both of Piedmont were charged with drug trafficking, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  Four suspects were arrested in Cedar Bluff, including, Lanny R. Crocker, Jr, 48, Babara L. Crocker, 42, William A. Wood, 63, and Kevin M. Oakes.

The Crockers were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Wood and Oakes were both charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  Later in the afternoon on Monday, 2 Georgia residents, Lewis G. Adams, 33, and Roger D. Broadrick, 55, were arrested on Highway 9 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies transported all 8 suspects to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
