Christopher Gunnells, 37, of Adairsville, was arrested Tuesday for hitting a woman in front of a child.
Gunnells is accused of physically assaulting the victim and leaving visible marks on her. He also caused damage to the victim’s vehicle. Both crimes were committed in front of an 11-year-old child.
When officers arrived to serve the active warrant, Gunnells attempted to hide from police in a closet.
Gunnells is charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement officers, cruelty to children, criminal trespass, battery, and simple assault.
