Ferdinand Dewight Walker, 36 of Fort Payne, was jailed in Rome after police said he attempted to sell a stolen truck.
Reports said that Walker also attempted to register the stolen vehicle claiming that he had purchased it.
Police added that Walker was attempting to sell the 1984 GMC C1500 for $500 to a Rome woman.
Walker is charged with theft by deception and theft by receiving stolen property.
