An inmate at the Floyd COunty Jail Jeremy Austin Awalt, 22 of Rome, was hit with additional charges this week after being accused of burglarizing a home on Bethel Church Road.
Reports said that Awalt stole numerous items valued at $1,500 and took them to Golf for Less and sold them for $194.
Awalt is charged with burglary, theft by taking and theft by conversion.

Police added that while at the Floyd County Jail they discovered that Awalt was found to have a schedule IV controlled substance. Reports went on to say that they pills spilled out in the back seat of the patrol car.
Awalt is charged with 2nd degree forgery, crossing a guard line with contraband with drugs, possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and drugs not in original container.
