Two Romans, Clarence Cornelius Neal Jr, and Joshua Jermaine Hall, 29, were arrested after a chase in north Floyd County Saturday ended on Highway 27 near Scenic Road.

Authorities stated that a lookout was placed on a vehicle matching that of the one being driven by Neal following reports of gunfire in Summerville.

GSP troopers stated that when they attempted to initiate a traffic stop the began began to pull away. They added that during a chase one of the men in the vehicle began to throw marijuana out of the window.

The driver of the vehicle, Hall, eventually pulled over and the men were taken into custody.

GSP troopers were back out on Highway 27 at the GA 140 red light Sunday afternoon searching for drugs that may have been left behind.

Neal was also wanted on a warrant for a crime that was allegedly committed back in July 2016.  He is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime for that incident. The warrant stated that Neal had two firearms, one of which was stolen, while also having close to four ounces of marijuana.

Neal is also charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, giving a false name, address or birth date, felony possession of marijuana and littering, for throwing marijuana onto the highway.

Hall is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, speeding, failure to maintain a lane, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving on a suspended or revoked license, failure to appear, and giving a false name, address or birth date.
