A Boaz teenager has been arrested and charged in connection to a recent homicide, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

18 year-old Avery Grizzard, of Boaz, was arrested on Tuesday, October 3rd, and charged with one count of murder, a felony.

Grizzard was with Ty Kirkland when Kirkland allegedly shot 42 year-old Kevin Charles Jones after a verbal confrontation at the residence.  The shooting occurred at approximately 6:39 p.m. Monday, September 25th, at 689 Sunset Trail, Boaz. The victim passed away hours later at a Birmingham hospital.

Grizzard is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $100,000 cash bond.
