Joseph Shane Witt, 42 of Rome, was arrested this week after neglecting his elderly disabled mother.
Reports stated that Witt was the caregiving of his81 year-old mother, who was a double amputee, as well as in the early stages of dementia, moved out of her home and failed to check on her over a period of time.
Reports added that Witt was also in control of her medication, in which he failed to administer for her.
Authorities went on to state that the victim was found in her own feces and urine, and had been in such for three days before a home health nurse found her.
Witt is charged with neglect to an elderly or disabled person and probation violation.
