Redmond Regional Medical Center and the City of Rome welcomed a new member, Floyd County, to their Employee Wellness Center with an Open House and Ribbon Cutting in conjunction with the Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce today. Reflecting the new partnership, the Wellness Center’s new name was also unveiled: Rome Floyd Wellness Center, operated by Redmond.  The Rome Floyd Wellness Center, located at 2112 Shorter Avenue, Suite 240, dedicated exclusively to serving the City of Rome and Floyd County employees and their families.  By using the new wellness center, employees and their families will save time and expense on routine healthcare making it easier to maintain and/or improve their health.

The center provides high quality, convenient health care at no cost to City and County employees and their dependents, two years of age and above, covered by the business’ health care plan.  County employees will now have additional options of seeing the nurse practitioner at the Wellness Center or continue to see their primary care physician.   Paula Dunwoody, Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, along with the wellness center professional team provide a wide range of services including primary care, acute care, preventive care, occupational health, disease and chronic condition monitoring, workers’ comp treatment and management, and wellness services.  Additional services include blood pressure checks, flu testing, x-rays, lab work and administration of various vaccines.  As an added convenience, many prescriptions are available at the center.

“Redmond is dedicated to providing Floyd County and City of Rome employees and their families with expert, high-quality healthcare with a hometown feel,” said John Quinlivan, CEO of Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Jamie McCord, Floyd County Manager stated, “Improving the health of our employees and their families is one of our top priorities.  Floyd County’s choosing to invest in an employee wellness center has made access to quality healthcare and wellness resources simple and convenient with a goal of increasing employee satisfaction and improving the county’s bottom line.”

“The Wellness Center not only provides a great service to our employees and family members, but also improves worker productivity and fights health care inflation, lowering the health care costs to the city and our employees,” said Sammy Rich, City Manager.  “Floyd County’s  joining Redmond’s wellness center will be a win-win for their employees and the County.”

“Organizations like the City of Rome and Floyd County are leading the way to improving the health of our country,” said Ken Metteauer, Redmond’s Chief Financial Officer.  “We are proud to partner with them in the administration of their onsite Wellness Center and to share in the Rome Floyd Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting today.”
