Kevin Adrian Cruz, 25 of Cartersville, was arrested this week after police said he hit his wife numerous times, resulting in redness and swelling to her face.
Reports said that the incident occurred in front of two small children.
Police said that when they arrived on scene Cruz allegedly started to fight with them. They added that Cruz injured the right knee of one of the officers, rending in him unable to use his leg.
The officers added that Cruz also ripped a Fitbit off of another officer.
Cruz is charged with aggravated battery against a police officer, criminal trespass, two counts of felony obstruction, two counts of cruelty to children in the third degree and simple battery.
