Rome police arrested suspects allegedly involved in a bank scam.

Vantriska Mecole Ragland, 24 of Rome, and Rashaan Cornell Dobbs, 20, were arrested on Friday following a chase that occurred after Ragland attempted to cash fake checks that was provided by Dobbs.

Reports said that Ragland attempted to cash a fake check at one bank before attempting to cash another at a different bank.

Authorities stated that during a chase Dobbs allegedly ripped up the bogus checks and threw them out of the vehicle.

The checks totaled$3,578.31

Ragland is charged with felony forgery, deposit account fraud, and theft by deception.

Dobbs is charged with being a party to a crime of theft by deception and tampering with evidence.
