The Euharlee City Council approved the hiring of interim Chief of Police Lee New as the permanent chief.
New has served as interim chief since December 5th after Mitchell Whitehead’s resignation last November 9th.
New had already served as Euharlee’s interim Chief of Police from April 7th 2015 until October 6th 2015 after the arrest of Terry Harget on March 26th 2015 for theft of government funds and violation of oath of office.
