Repairs currently scheduled on the bridge in Lindale are not due to structure failure, but to replace the sidewalks to be ADA compliant.  Currently, a wheel chair would have to cross the bridge in the road.

According to Michael Skeen, Director of Public Works, “We will take advantage of this to repair any other issues with the bridge with a focus on restoring the current ‘ brown sand’ color to blend in with the sidewalls.  We will work on one side at a time and only close one lane at a time and open both lanes over nights and weekends.”

Skeen added that the work could take up to 1 month depending on the weather.  This project is included in the 2013 SPLOST infrastructure for Lindale.
