This spring, families can bring camper chairs and blankets, stretch out under the stars at Ridge Ferry Park and tune into a family feature for Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation’s new outdoor movie series. The Ridge Ferry Film series will kick off with a family feature on April 21st at Ridge Ferry Park. Other outdoor movie dates throughout the summer will be June 23rd, August 11th and September 29th.

Films that are showing will be announced online at the Parks and Recreation event page for Ridge Ferry Films. The events are free to the public.

“This is something we have been wanting to do for a while,” said Sarah Grimes, RFPRD Program Coordinator. “These movies are a chance for locals and their kids to get together and do something fun and free during the  spring and summer.”

A lineup of food trucks, vendors and a kid zone with inflatables will be at the park for each outdoor movie event. Details and information will be listed prior to events at rfpra.com/ridgeferryfilms.

“We have several programs in the works at Parks and Recreation, and we’re pleased to announce this new one which we know will make families excited,” said Kevin Cowling, RFPRD Director.
