Cartersville authorities were notified last week that hundreds, if not thousands, of dead fish in a lake at Dillinger Park.

Georgia Department of Natural Resource biologist was dispatched and tested the lake quality. After numerous tests it was determined that the oxygen level was too low because of many ducks, geese and fish.

As a result authorities have suspended feeding the wish/waterfowl in the area.

The Cartersville Parks and Recreation Department  staff will be removing the dead fish periodically.

They also ask that citizens not feed the fish or animals until the water quality improves.
