Rome High School principal Dr. Phillip Brown has announced that he is resigning at the end of the school year.  The move comes close to a month after the city school system named Louis Byars as Superintendent.

Brown has served as the principal of Rome High since 2015.

The city school system has had numerous major changes in the central office this school year.
The first came when Will Byington was appointed to the Board of Education following the sudden death of Judy Sims.
Then in January, head football coach John Reid was announced as the Director of Athletics.  The position was newly created for Reid, who just won a state championship.
The position is requiring Reid to have to move his  office to the central office due to the amount of salary he is receiving.
The system is also looking for a recreated position of assistant superintendent.  The position was cut several years back.
