The Polk County Board of Education met over the weekend for a special closed door session to discuss a recent personnel investigation.
The meeting began with school board attorney Michael McRae announcing that the meeting would be a closed session and that no other comment would be made at that time.
After an hour the board returned and no action was taken.
An investigation has been launched into improper conduct by Polk County School Superintendent Darrell Wetherington.
The investigation was launched after a request from the school board’s attorney.
Wetherington took over the position of Superintendent on January after having served as principal of Cedartown High School. He was the lone finalist for the position after William Hunter retired at the end of 2016.
