The body of  Eric Wood,  18 year-old Summerville teen, was found on Monday in Mobile, County Alabama. Reports said that Wood’s body was found beside a railroad track.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader told AM 1180 Chattooga County Radio that that he had been in contact with the Mobile County Medical Examiner’s Office about the incident and that his department is offering any assistance they can in the investigation.  Sheriff Schrader said that according to the information he received, the body was badly decomposed when it was found by a pedestrian.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is treating the death of Wood as a homicide and has reached out to the public for any information that they might have.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said, “This crime is being investigated as a homicide.  If anyone has any information about this crime, we ask that you call 251-574-8633 or report anonymously to www.mobileso.com /report-a-crime”
