A Cherokee County man was arrested on multiple charges Monday afternoon after trying to run from authorities.

According to information posted on the website of the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office – 26 year old Anthony Matthew Gilreath of Gaylesville, was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and with two counts of Burglary 3rd Degree – that in addition to Theft of Property, Resisting Arrest and Attempting to Elude.

Gilreath was booked into jail shortly before 2:00pm, where he currently remains.

No additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding his arrest has yet been made available.
