A clerk with the Menlo Handi Mart reported an attempted shoplifting last week to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Department.
The clerk told a responding deputy that a frequent customer, described as a white male, about 5’ 8” that drives an older Chevrolet Cavalier came into the store and took a “Mean Bean Java” energy drink from the cooler and stuffed it into his pants. He then brought a second “Mean Bean Java” to the counter to pay for that one.
When the clerk asked him about the “Mean Bean Java” stuffed in his pants, the man decided he would pay for both drinks.
The clerk said she wanted to file a report because the man frequently comes into the Handi Mart attempting to sell the store “Mean Bean Javas”.
