*Sonoraville (8-3) at No. 7 Liberty County (10-1): Sonoraville looks to reach the quarterfinals of the playoffs for the first time in school history this week. Last week the Phoenix was lead by Tristan Key who rushed for 104 yards and scored the winning touchdown. Liberty County, a first time region is in the second round for the third time since its opening in 1993. The school has also never made a quarterfinal. Liberty County is lead by five-star recruit Richard LeCounte,a UGA commit.

*No. 10 Jackson (8-3) at No. 4 Calhoun (9-2): Jackson is seeking its first quarterfinal since 2009. Calhoun is lead by quarterback and linebacker Baylon Spector, a Clemson commit who has rushed for 611 yards, passed for 294 and made 45 tackles, eight for losses. However, the Jackets have been leaning toward Gavin Gray lately as its main quarterback. He’s 88-of-130 passing for 1,146 yards and 20 touchdowns. Calhoun is without presason all-state RB Olico Dennis who tore his ACL earlier tin the year. Calhoun has not lost a second round playoff game in almost a decade.

*Dodge County (6-5) at No. 6 Pepperell (9-1): Dodge County has not made it out of the second round since 1999. Pepperell is seeking its first 10-win season and quarterfinal appearance since 2008. The Dragons were led by tailback Tae Hammond who rushed for 184 yards and 3 touchdowns on 13 carries last week.

*Rockmart (9-2) at No. 2 Fitzgerald (10-1): Rockmart’s 42-0 victory over Heard County last week was its first playoff win since 2012 and its most-lopsided victory ever in the state playoffs. Sophomore Markus Smith leads the Jackets with 1,114 yards. The team averages 297.5 rushing years per game this year. Fitzgerald reached the quarterfinals seven times in the past eight years and was the AA runner-up last season.

*Chattooga (7-4) at Washington County (9-2): Chattooga’s 44-14 victory over Lamar County last week was the Indians’ first win in the state playoffs in school history. Chattooga is led by twins Isaih and Isaac Foster, who togetehr has rushed for close to 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns. Washington County is 4-1 in the second round over the past decade.
