Calhoun Police has asked for the public’s help in identifying an armed robbery suspect. Reports stated that early Wednesday authorities were dispatched to a call at Meadowbrook Apartments in response to a Hispanic male being robbed at gunpoint.

The victim told police hat as he came out of his home just before 8 a.m. when a black male came up to him and said that he had a gun under his shirt. The victim told police that while he did not see the gun, the suspect pointed an object at him from his jacket pocket that appeared to be gun shaped. The suspect took a credit card and a small amount of cash before running away on foot through the woods behind Meadowbrook Apartments.

A K9 police dog tracked the scent to the Wexford Subdivision before losing the scent. Authorities said that they think the suspect may have had a car in the area.

The suspect is described as a black male of medium build and height. He was wearing dark clothing and was wearing a boggin-type mask.

Authorities ask that anyone who might have witnessed a man dressed in dark clothing walking in the area of Meadowbrook Apartments or Wexford Subdivision this morning around 8 a.m. to call Calhoun Police Department at 706-629-1234.
