Georgia State Patrol officials confirmed that one person has died as the result of a wreck near mile marker 311 on I-75 Monday.
Reports stated that a fully loaded transfer truck driven by James Flowers, 48 of Decatur, was traveling south when one of his tires blew out. Police stated that the tractor trailer lost control and smashed into a Dodge Caravan. The impact caused both vehicles to cross the median, struck the guardrail and travel into oncoming traffic.
Police added that wreckage resulted into several other vehicles being damaged.
A passenger in the transfer truck, Cadaryl Robinson, age 29, from Decatur, Ala., was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
According to GSP, no charges are likely to be filled.
The investigation is still pending at press time.
