Floyd County Police are continuing to investigate the shooting death of 24 year-old Terrence Herrington after he was found with a gunshot wound to the head on Sunday.
Reports stated that Herrington was found outside his Roslayn Drive home around 1:40 am Sunday morning.
Herrington is the son of current Floyd County EMA Director Tim Herrington.
Chief Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor said that Herrington was pronounced dead at the scene 3 a.m. He added that a weapon was located at the scene.
The body has been sent to the GBI Crime Lab after the death was ruled as suspicious.
