The Rome Floyd County Fire Department will receive a $2,500 grant this week to buy urgently needed safety equipment under the Georgia-Pacific Bucket Brigade grant program.

The Rome Floyd County Fire Department is one of thirty-three fire departments who will receive Georgia-Pacific Bucket Brigade grants this year totaling $170,000.

Now marking the 10th anniversary of the grant program, Georgia-Pacific has given more than $2-million to fire departments that serve the company’s facility communities across the country. The Bucket Brigade grants, which this year ranged from $2,500 to $10,000, are based on need and are funded by the Georgia-Pacific Foundation and local Georgia-Pacific facilities across the country.
