Polk School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Scott Hendrix as the new principal at Cedartown High School effective January 1st, 2017.

Mr. Hendrix will be replacing Dr. Darrell Wetherington who is set to become Superintendent of Polk School District.

Mr. Hendrix was the consensus top choice of the interview committee which consisted of Dr. Darrell Wetherington, Mrs. Laurie Atkins, Mr. Greg Teems, Dr. Katie Thomas, Mr. David Robinson, Mrs. Julie Moilenan, and Mrs. Jill Dempsey.

The committee interviewed all internal applicants along with several external candidates.

“Coach Hendrix will do a fantastic job of sustaining and accelerating the Cedartown High School brand. He has a strong instructional background and really focuses on the job of disaggregating data to drive instruction. Coach Hendrix also exhibited strengths in managing budgets, ensuring school safety, working with the Polk County College and Career Academy, and building quality relationships,” said incoming Superintendent Dr. Darrell Wetherington.
