On Friday, Centre Narcotic Officers concluded the investigation into local business owner Eric Ray Young who was suspected of selling methamphetamine and other controlled substances.

Search warrants were excecuted by the Centre and Leesburg Police Departments at a residence on 1st Avenue West in Centre and Young’s business on East Main Street across the street from Centre Elementary School.

Young was also served with felony warrants. During the sourse of the search of both locations officers seized a sizeable amount of methamphetamine, additional controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

Young was charged with five counts of the Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance and Possession of a Controlled Substance with the intene to Distribute. Officers say additional charges are expected.

Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship would like to express his gratitude for the hard work his officers put into this case and to the citizens who reported the illegal activity. He encourages all citizens to contact the Centre Police Department with any information about illegal activity, all information will be kept strictly confidential.
