Charles Gary Neal Jr, 38 of Centre, was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday after police on a chase while riding a motorcycle.

Reports stated that officers spotted Neal driving at a high rate of speed near the intersection of Turner McCall Blvd and Broad Street.  The officer said that when he attempted to pull Near over he fled west on Ga 20 where he zoomed in and out of traffic, crossing no pass zones and driving on the wrong side of the road.

Reports then stated that before crossing into Alabama Neal lost control of his motorcycle and was taken into custody.

Police said that a search of the scene uncovered a large quantity of methamphetamine on the motorcycle.

Warrants stated that the chase occurred on July of this year. He had been housed at the Cherokee County Jail.

Neal is charged with trafficking drugs, attempting to elude a police officer, possession of methamphetamine, failure to maintain a lane, driving in a center lane, driving on wrong side of road, passing in a no pass zone, failure to obey traffic  devices, reckless driving and failure to display license plate.
