A 43 year-old Summerville woman, identified as Kimberly Carrion, succumbed to injuries she sustained from a single vehicle accident on U.S. 27 near Taylor Ridge in Chattooga County this week.

According to reports, Carrion was coming around a curve on a wet road when she lost control of her Mercury Mountaineer.  Authorities said that her SUV slid off the road, overturned and crashed into a tree just south of Kirby Hollow Road.

She was transported to a local hospital, where she later passed away.

Georgia State Patrol officials said that the wreck was the result of the wet road.
