A suspect, identified as Mrs. Stephen Jamal Herring, of Cartersville, in the Monday afternoon Bartow County shooting near the Department of Family and Children Resources office has been captured. Fugitive investigators from Bartow and Cobb were checking multiple leads in an effort to locating the suspect and those efforts resulted in a fugitive traffic stop near Chastain Road on Busbee Parkway.

Reports said that a Ms. Amanda Nicole Young was also identified as a co-conspirator in the incident.

Herring is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  Mr. Herring was also charged with an outstanding Sales of Marijuana warrant for an unrelated case.

Young was charged with False report of a crime, Obstruction, Party to a crime (Aggravated Assault) and Harboring a fugitive.

A witness reported that the shooting occurred when two men started arguing in the DFACS parking lot.  They added that a man left the scene and then returned with a gun and fired at the victim.

Witnesses said that the shooter and the victim both fled the scene.  The victim, Flores, was later contacted at Cartersville Medical Center.  He was listed in stable condition in stable condition with a wound to his leg.
