Lavera Wilhite, 58 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said she altered a check. Reports said that Wilhite changed a check that had been written to Riverwood Retirement Life Community and made it payable to her
The $2,660 check, which was written for back in 2014 was cashed at Regions Bank .
Wilhite is charged with felony forgery in the third degree.
