The Floyd County Board of Education approved Angela Brock as Alto Park Elementary Schools next principal.

Brock currently works as the school’s assistant principal.  She will replace Dr. Aaron Anderson, who retired this year after over a decade at the school.  Brock will begin her new role in June.  Currently, Craig Ellison is serving as principal on an interim basis.

The Board also approved Dr. Tina Wood as the system’s new Director of Special Education. She currently works as a Career Transition Specialist at Georgia Northwestern Technical College.

Coosa High School will soon get major upgrades on the school’s football field.  Ra-Lin won the bid to do the work for $265,825.  Sources indicate that the school had wanted to place artificial turf down, but the decision was made to redo the natural surface, which has had major drainage issues for decades.

The field is expected to be ready in time for football season.
