Floyd County police said that 25 year-old Devon Lavan Mcdougald, of Cedartown, was arrested on Wednesday after he accidentally shot a woman. Reports said that Mcdougald, who is a convicted felon, was sitting in the back of a car with a gun at a home on Elliot Drive when it discharged and struck the woman sitting in the front seat.
Officials said that a .38 caliber bullet went through the woman and was in fair condition when help arrived.
Mcdougald was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and reckless conduct.
