One day after being arrested on a DUI charge in Cartersville, Brandy Denise Kotteman, retired from the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office. Reports said that Kotteman was arrested after leaving the Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse on Church Street Sunday.

Reports said that she was spotted by an off duty officer who called dispatched and notified them of the possible DUI.

A Cartersville police officer caught up to Kotteman on Joe Frank Harris Parkway at South Bridge Drive, where police said she was driving on the shoulder for a little while and then took a turn too wide, causing her to veer onto the wrong side of the road for several seconds.

The officer followed Kotteman into the Citgo gas station, 445 South Erwin St., after he turned on his emergency lights.

Reports said that during the traffic stop she told the officer that she has ‘been a deputy sheriff for 24 years.’

After being asked how much she had to drink the officer reported that she said ‘I’ve had a lot”.

She had been with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office since August 1992.
