The Rome Alcohol Control Commission approved a change in the code for an establishment to get their pouring license after they open. The change now says a business has 180 days instead of the previous 90 days, with the possibility of an additional extension.
Officials said that the change would allow for additional constructing or remodeling time.
Rome City Clerk Joe Smith said that even with the ACC’s approval, the full Rome City Commission must approve the change
The ACC also approved requests for public consumption at three upcoming events downtown; the Rome Area Council for the Arts’ “Fire Fly Fling” is on April 22 on the 5th Avenue Bridge, the Downtown Development Authority Block Party is on May 21, and the Harbin Clinic Block Party is on October 15.
