According to reports, Michael Kelly Kirby, 32 of Melo, was arrested for stealing lottery tickets from a store in Summerville. Report said that Kirby stuffed hundreds of dollars of tickets down his pants from the store’s safe last Friday.
Police said that the store owner was unaware that the tickets were stolen until this week. After reviewing surveillance video they saw what happened.
Kirby was recognized when he returned to the same store in order to cash in his winning lottery tickets.
When authorities arrived to arrest Kelly they found marijuana and numerous lottery tickets in his vehicle. A search of his home also uncovered numerous other lottery tickets.
Kirby stands charged with Theft by Taking, Possession of Marijuana (more than one ounce) and with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.
