Berry College Head Baseball Coach David Beasley will be inducted to the Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame. The sold-out ceremony will be Feb. 29 at Berry College’s Krannert Center.
Beasley is being recognized for lifetime achievement and has been the Vikings’ head baseball coach since 1998. He entered the 2016 season with a 542-363-2 overall record and has the most wins of any coach in school history. His current 2016 team is 10-0.
Under Beasley’s leadership, Berry has seen 14 former players play professionally and celebrated a conference championship in 2009 when the Vikings went to the NAIA World Series and tied the school record for most wins with 46.
“I am extremely proud and pleased of David’s induction into the Rome-Floyd Sports Hall of Fame,” said Vikings’ Athletic Director Todd Brooks. “David has done so much for athletics over the past twenty years as our head baseball coach. He is an excellent ambassador of athletics, Berry College, Rome and Floyd County. For that reason alone I do not know of a more deserving individual.”
