Rome Police honored several officers this week for the work that they have done. During a press conference held by the department’s Selective Enforcement Unit PFC Kyle York was honored as the Officer of the Year. He was joined by officer Brandon Brown who was honored for Occupant safety, PFC Tony Yarbrough honored for Speed detection and PFC Aaron Thacker who was honored for his work with DUI enforcement.
Two members of the community, Norma A. England and Dennis Newby, were honored for wearing their seat belts during wrecks in which could have resulted to their lives being saved. They were given the 2015 Saved by the Belt Award.
