A 39 year old Gaylesville man has been arrested, for failure to comply with the Alabama Sex Offender Registration & Notification Act.
Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver reports that Michael Shane Moore had previously listed his address as County Road 120, however it was learned that he had instead been staying at an unreported address.
Convicted sex offenders are required by law to notify the sheriff’s office when they move or change address or begin staying at another location. Moore was taken into custody Monday and currently remains in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
According to information posted on the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office website – Moore is required to register as a sex offender due to a charge of Rape 1st Degree.
