Five defendants for whom arrest warrants have been issued remain at large. New leads were developed and evidence collected during the arrest operation, so more charges and arrests are expected in the coming days and weeks.
During the overall course of this investigation, deputies seized methamphetamine and marijuana with a “street value” of over $200,000.00, as well as several firearms. The defendants remain in custody pending bond proceedings. A number of the defendants have lengthy arrest records and are on supervised release (probation or parole).
Sheriff Ralston said, “The deputies assigned to this long-term investigation spent hundreds of man hours on surveillance and undercover work. Theses cases are very tedious, and the investigating officers were efficient and effective in this case which resulted in over 20 arrests/prosecutions, and the seizure of a significant amount of controlled substances. Each of these defendants will now face Gordon County juries, and be subject to our Superior Court system.”
