During Floyd County Schools Board Meeting this week, Interim Superintendent Dr. John Jackson said that the system will purchase new Chromebooks for students. Jackson said that the computers will be purchased as a reward for the system’s improved graduation rate. The state will officially release graduation numbers next Monday.

Jackson said that the money to purchase the computers will come from the general fund and will be at a cost of $25 per student.

He added that with the state going to online testing the Chromebooks will allow the system to meet the mandating from the state.

It was also announced this week that FTE enrollment was up 19, from 6-559 to 9,578
