Southeast Bartow County was awarded close to $3 million in contracts and grants this week with the goal of helping the economy in the Glade Road area. Legacy Construction was awarded a $2,535,470 contract to install trunk sewer lines, main sewer lines and four pump stations along the Glade corridor. Americo Sewer Extensions was also awarded a $249,831 contract to upgrade its wastewater system. An engineering study was also approved for the Glade Road/Clark Creek Bridge replacement.

Commissioners also approved a grant application for lighting at the Hamilton Crossing and Mannign Mill Parks, as well as, improvements for the Hardin Bridge Boat Launch.

Bartow County Commissioners also reappointed Ed Brush, Paul Battles and Eric Strickland to the Development Authority of Bartow County. Eric Strickland was reappointed to the Joint Development Authority of Bartow and Pickens counties. Commissioners also appointed Todd Gregory to the Etowah Area Consolidated Housing Authority’s Housing and Development Corporation of Bartow County.
