Floyd is Top-Ranking Blood Donor Group in Region

According to Blood Assurance, blood donors at Floyd Medical Center
ranked as the largest donor group in the Blood Assurance service
region. Donors gave 796 units of blood were collected in 2009
at blood drives hosted by Floyd.
Blood Assurance, the non-profit regional blood center, is the
only provider of blood for Floyd Medical Center. The organization
hosts more than 2,000 blood drives each year and collects
approximately 100,000 units of blood for use by area hospitals.
Floyd`s next blood drive is scheduled for September 21-23. Blood Assurance will be at Floyd Medical Center from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on September 21 and September 23. Blood Assurance mobile donation centers will be at the Floyd Medical Arts Center, 304 Shorter Ave., from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on September 22 and at the Floyd Corporate Support Center, 420 E. Second Ave., from 1 p.m. until 4:20 p.m. on September 22. To register to donate, contact Jennie Pruitt at 706.509.3244.
