Georgia Tech punched its ticket for the big dance with a
69-64 upset of No. 15 ranked Maryland in the ACC Tournament
on Friday.
The Jackets totally dominated the first half and were
up 16 at the break.
As well as they played in the first half, they played
that bad in the second half, turning the ball over 16
times.
The turnovers allowed the Terps to fight their way
back, but Iman Shumpert made the key defensive stop on
ACC Player of the Year, Greivis Vasquez, in the closing
seconds and the Jackets hung on for the win.
Tech plays NC State, which upset Florida State,
in the semis.
